Luca Maria Gambardella is Director of IDSIA, Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence, USI-SUPSI in Lugano with around 80 people. He is Professor of Advanced Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence and director of the AI Master at USI. He has proposed and published several state-of-the-art Ant Colony based optimization algorithms and applied them to several industrial problems. He has published more than 300 papers with more than 49400 citations and h-index of 67.
